Hillary, The Problem is YOU!

Posted by Terry Howard @ 2/10/2008

Hillary Clinton released her campaign manager after Obama swept the weekend's primaries. Hillary, the problem isn't your campaign manager, it's YOU. You represent the same old lousy shady politics that people complain about all the time. When you get up to speak you come across like an angry shrew who is raising her voice to chastise all us bad children.

You make grand impossible promises like universal healthcare that you know isn't feasible. When the plan fails we know you'll just blame the people with the wisdom to block it, claiming you tried to give us free healthcare but the green meanies stopped you once again. It's just your little way to not have to live up to your campaign promises.

But the biggest problem is you don't inspire. Not one bit. You do nothing but complain about Bush (what's the point, he's gone) and go on angry grating tirades that make me dive for the remote. Obama on the other hand makes people want to listen. People make musical art out of his speeches. He uses words like hope and change and he sounds like he believes in it.

I'm not a liberal by any stretch, but I'm not a Republican either. Just a guy pointing out the obvious. Your campaign manager is fine Hillary, it's your candidate that sucks.

Pimping Your Ignorance

Posted by Terry Howard @ 2/08/2008

MSNBC's David Shuster expresses his negative opinion on Clinton using her daughter to call celebrities and super delegates on her behalf by using the phrase "pimping out" to describe the strategy. The result? Everyone goes apeshit.

I don't know if I agree with his opinion or not, but I do know that Shuster wasn't suggesting Chelsea was actually being used to exchange sex for votes. It's a figure of speech folks, and a pretty common one. Anyone who took issue with the statement merely on the basis of the phrase "pimping out" is a big fat idiot. Why don't you discuss the point he raises instead of incorrectly taking a figure of speech literally and then arguing against that.

Kneel Before Zod!

Posted by Terry Howard @ 7/14/2007

Just came across the campaign website for another candidate that everyone should consider at the voting booth. General Zod's campaign promise is: " Instead of hidden agendas and waffling policies, I offer you direct candor and brutal certainty. I only ask for your tribute, your lives, and your vote." I think that's something I can respect, or at least fear.

Be sure you check out the kids page!

Vote For Frank

Posted by Terry Howard @ 7/07/2007

I'm voting for this guy. I came across his website looking at All Brevard Magazine and I think he deserves my vote more than any of the other windbags most of the public has the misfortune to have shoved down their throats. For me, I was sold at "Fair Tax" in his platform description. I think it's the most important piece of legislation Congress has had on their docket in a long time yet many treat it like a red-headed step child. I would wager 100% of those that do haven't even bothered to read it, which is just infuriating. Which sort of leads me to Frank Zilaitis's next stance (well, he lists it first) which is to clean house, literally, get a new congress in who actually does its job, which should be to read the bills, don't attach irrelevant riders and vote according to the voice of their constituency. I'm not sure a President can or should be able to affect such a thing, but I agree, when we go to vote for Congress, we need to get a lot of these current jerk offs the heck out of there.

Why should I vote for any of the people stumping on national TV right now? None of them have solid stances of any real consequence, just typical willow in the wind jelly spined politicians. But Frank seals the deal for me because he's a Brevard County resident and a proclaimed angler. Every President should fish, especially the flats, at least if they fish I can be a little more sure they are more than a puppet in a suit. Would the Presidential limo have a redfish sticker in the back window? I can dream.

Fairness Doctrine

Posted by Terry Howard @ 7/07/2007

Been hearing this idea thrown around a lot lately, bringing back the Fairness Doctrine which would mean equal time for conservatives and liberals alike on talk radio. Despite this being a complete disregard for the free market and overstepping of government authority, this just won't work logistically. I'm noticing that both its main proponents and opponents seem to forget that there are more ideologies out there than just their own two. Wouldn't the fairness doctrine mean that people who are moderates get equal time? On that note, would this mean Liberterians or Marxists get designated time, or do they think only Republicans and Democrats are the only conservatives or liberals out there? Are they going to give the Pirate Party (advocates of IP piracy) and even NAMBLA time on the mic? And just what little scientific test would we employ to determine a person's political label and what time slot they fit into? What if Sean Hannity said on alternating days that he was a liberal? Who decides what a person's political slant is, the government or themselves? What about someone like me who might be fiscally conservative, but believes in some level of liberal approaches to say maybe social issues?Would I get 2 time slots? The whole thing is just ridiculous.

Daisy Lynum Under Investigation

Posted by Terry Howard @ 4/25/2007

WFTV Channel 9 in Orlando is reporting that Daisy Lynum is under state investigation as a result of her actions involving trying to get her son out of a ticket. Daisy Lynum probably would have been fine if she didn't have to go and open her big mouth and prove to everyone just how big of a racist nepotist she really is. Let's also hope this will branch out into exploring all the cases of where Daisy Lynum has abused her power to benefit herself and exploit the people she claims to represent. The Orlando black community deserves to led by someone who isn't bent on using their hardships to prop herself up and make personal gains.
