Fairness Doctrine

Been hearing this idea thrown around a lot lately, bringing back the Fairness Doctrine which would mean equal time for conservatives and liberals alike on talk radio. Despite this being a complete disregard for the free market and overstepping of government authority, this just won’t work logistically. I’m noticing that both its main proponents and opponents seem to forget that there are more ideologies out there than just their own two. Wouldn’t the fairness doctrine mean that people who are moderates get equal time? On that note, would this mean Liberterians or Marxists get designated time, or do they think only Republicans and Democrats are the only conservatives or liberals out there? Are they going to give the Pirate Party (advocates of IP piracy) and even NAMBLA time on the mic? And just what little scientific test would we employ to determine a person’s political label and what time slot they fit into? What if Sean Hannity said on alternating days that he was a liberal? Who decides what a person’s political slant is, the government or themselves? What about someone like me who might be fiscally conservative, but believes in some level of liberal approaches to say maybe social issues?Would I get 2 time slots? The whole thing is just ridiculous.
